Homeowner Terms of Service

Last updated: July 27, 2026. These terms apply to homeowners and other property owners using TaskTango. Service professionals are covered by the separate Terms for professionals.

1. What TaskTango is

TaskTango Markets operates a matching marketplace. We take your project details and make them available to independent local businesses that serve your area. We are not a home services contractor, we do not perform the work, and we do not employ, supervise, subcontract or direct the professionals on the marketplace.

2. Your agreement is with the professional

Any quote, contract, schedule, payment, warranty or guarantee is strictly between you and the professional you choose. TaskTango is not a party to that agreement and does not set prices. You are responsible for vetting the business, agreeing on scope in writing, and confirming licensing and insurance before work begins.

3. Free to use, no obligation

Submitting a request and comparing professionals is free for homeowners. You are never obligated to hire anyone. Professionals pay TaskTango a fee to receive requests; that fee does not change what you pay for the work.

4. Contact and consent

By submitting a request you agree that matched professionals may contact you by phone, text or email about that project. A shared request is capped at four professionals. Consent is not a condition of purchase and message and data rates may apply. You may ask any professional to stop contacting you at any time.

5. Accurate information

Please give accurate project and contact details. Submitting false, duplicate or test requests, or using the marketplace to solicit professionals for anything other than a genuine project, may result in removal from the service.

6. Verification is a document check, not a guarantee

Verification badges reflect license and insurance documents a business submitted and we reviewed at a point in time. External ratings are labeled by source. A badge is not an endorsement, a warranty of workmanship, or a guarantee that a business's credentials remain current. Always confirm directly.

7. Accounts

An account is optional; you can submit a request as a guest. If you create one, keep your credentials secure — you're responsible for activity under your account. You can ask us to close it at any time by emailing support@tasktango.com.

8. If something goes wrong

Raise the issue with the professional first, in writing. If it isn't resolved, email us with your request details and what happened. We can investigate, mediate informally, and remove businesses from the marketplace, but we cannot arbitrate your contract, order a refund from a professional, or guarantee the work. Licensed trades can also be reported to your state contractor licensing board.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The marketplace is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TaskTango disclaims all warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and is not liable for the acts, omissions, workmanship, delays, damage or conduct of any professional.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TaskTango's total liability arising out of or relating to your use of the marketplace will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and what is shared with professionals, and is incorporated into these terms.

11. Changes, governing law and contact

We may update these terms and will post changes on this page with a new date. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions go to support@tasktango.com.
